The winemaker Bernd Philippi is a living legend. His 1990/1998 Riesling Saumagen Aulese R is considered to be one of the best dry Riesling in Germany ever produced and also famous for its long aging potential. Bernd Philippi was a role-model for many young german winemakers in the 90s and together with Breuer/Rheingau he was the pathfinder for TOP dry Riesling.

This Spätlese halbtrocken comes not close to the monument R, but is a solid Riesling for daily business. Big nose of lime and pears. Powerful flavor-profile of pears, litchi and honey. Nice balanced sweetness which makes this wine the perfect partner for all asian dishes.
