This is the basic or Estate Riesling of Dönnhoff and always a good indicator in which direction a vintage goes. Typical Dönnhoff style, this means grace, delicate, light on its feed and humble. Cautious bouquet. A mix of apple, peach, pineapple with gentle layers of minerality. Remarkable lush fruit which could indicate that the vintage 2006 is in favour of non-dry Rieslings. Also my barrel-tastings with R. Weil/Rheingau showed that non-dry Rieslings left behind the dry Rieslings in 2006.  According to Mr. Dönnhoff 2006 is one of the best vintages ever produced.
